The solo sprint just after the summit was decisive
Javier Romo (Movistar Team) wins the third stage of the Tour Down Under, from Norwood to Uraidla (147.5 km).
The group reaches the foot of the Pound Reserve climb very stretched out, thanks to the action of the Ineos Grenadiers. There are several attempts to attack, without anyone managing to make the difference, only Rochas gains a few meters on a group of about fifteen riders, near the gpm.
Immediately after the summit, Romo attempted a solo attack: Harper and Onley tried to chase from behind, but no one was able to get back on the Spaniard's wheel, who won with a 5" advantage over the main group controlled by Narvaez ahead of Fisher Black .
Slightly behind (25") is a second group with Strong, Lecerf, Torres, Woods and Williams.
In the general classification Romo leads with 8" on Narvaez and 10" on Konrad.
