60km solo breakaway that is also worth the leader's jersey
Thymen Arensman (Ineos Grenadier) wins the fourth stage of the Tour of the Alps, from Sillian to Obertilliach (162.7 km).
The stage comes to life in a seemingly innocuous section: between km 90 and km 110, several attacks by the big names disrupt the group, Arensman manages to take advantage of the situation and gains an advantage over his opponents, with 1' on Gee and a good 4' on the group with the rest of the favourites.
On the climb of Anras Oberried , Storer moves in first person and reduces the gap on the head of the race. Arensman however manages the effort very well also on the subsequent climbs and arrives alone at the finish line. Behind him Gee defends the 2nd place, while Storer closes third at 1'22" and loses the top of the standings.
