Marco Frigo wins the third stage of the Tour of the Alps from Sterzing to Innichen , 145.5 km.

Great feat by the Israel Premier Tech rider who, after attacking, arrives alone at the finish line. Frigo, initially, manages to manage the pursuit of three other attackers Finlay Pickering (Bahrain Victorious), Frederik Wandahl (Red Bull - Bora) and Andrew August (Ineos Grenadiers). With 16 km to go, at the start of the last climb, Monte Versciaco, Frigo has almost two minutes of advantage over the three men chasing him and over four minutes on the group of Storer , the leader of the general classification.  

Right from the group, with 13.3 km to go, Riccitello, Frigo's teammate at Israel, attacks; Piganzoli tries to follow him, but fails. The American easily catches up with the three counterattackers, but on the descent the group of the best comes back.

With 8 km to go, Frigo is still in the lead, but he has just a minute's advantage over the leading group. Despite the big names getting closer, Frigo manages to defend his lead and win the stage, his first victory as a professional.  

Behind him the group sprint was won by Jai Hindley , while Derek Gee placed third, completing a fine day for team Israel.
