The lineup that will support Tadej Pogacar has been confirmed
UAE Team Emirates has announced the eight riders who will take part in the 2025 Tour de France, where Tadej Pogačar will be aiming for his fourth victory in the Grande Boucle to join Chris Froome in the Olympus of multiple winners.
The team essentially maintains the same structure that proved successful last year, with one change: Jhonatan Narváez takes the place of Juan Ayuso, who initially co-led the team at the Giro d'Italia alongside Adam Yates before his retirement.
Narváez, the UAE’s new 2025 signing, is expected to fill a similar role to Ayuso in last year’s Tour. His finishing skills could prove invaluable to Pogačar on the choppy stages of the first 10 days through northern and western France.
The lineup is mostly composed of climbers and all-rounders, confirming the team's strategy of focusing exclusively on the general classification without fielding sprinters. Marc Soler is the veteran of the group, having accompanied Pogačar in every Tour since 2022.
João Almeida, fourth place last year, and Adam Yates, third in 2023 and sixth in 2025, complete a top-level roster that confirms the enormous depth of the Emirati team.
The UAE Team Emirates squad for the Tour de France 2025:- Tadej Pogačar (Slovenia)
- Joao Almeida (Port)
- Jonathan Narvaez (Ecu)
- Nils Politt (German)
- Pavel Sivakov (Fra)
- Marc Soler (Spa)
- Tim Wellens (Bel)
- Adam Yates (GBR)
'I'm excited that the Tour is about to start. I've had an almost perfect preparation this year - everything went really well, especially after a great training camp at altitude with my teammates,' Pogačar said. 'The atmosphere in the team is fantastic at the moment and that gives me a lot of confidence.'
