In 2024 Cian Uijtdebroeks will race in Visma - Lease a Bike. After weeks of chaos, an agreement was reached today between the rider, the Dutch team and Bora hansgrohe. A green light approved by the International Cycling Union.
The contract between the Belgian talent and Bora will be terminated by mutual agreement on 31 December 2023. Uijtdebroeks had terminated his contract on 1 December, then signed for four years with Visma, despite having a contract until 31 December 2024 which Bora wanted to enforce at all costs, requesting a penalty of 1 million euros.
The former Jumbo will pay compensation to 'free' the rider and be able to field next season, in particular at the Giro d'Italia.
