The Australian from Team Bike Exchange precedes the sprin t Sonny Colbrelli ( Team Bahrain Victorious ) in an exciting head-to-head, while Quentin Pacher ( Groupama FDJ ) is third.

Fourth place for a brilliant Higuita , immediately ahead of Bagioli , who also appeared in excellent condition.

Serry, Armirail, Hvideberg, Delacroix, Molenaar and Caicedo are instead protagonists of the day's escape that ends 7 km from the finish on the impulse of the men of the Bahrain Victorious first and of the Jumbo Visma then.
