Thymen Arensman (Team DSM) won the fifteenth stage of the Vuelta, from Martos-Sierra Nevada of 152.6 km with the feared (and long) uphill finish at an altitude of 2,500.

The Dutch rider, who was part of the breakaway of the day with the big names (Carapaz, Hindley, Vine, Mader, Nibali, Uran and Soler), preceded Enric Mas (Movistar) and Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) by more than a minute.

Shortly after, Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) arrived who was 15 seconds behind the leader of the general classification, Remco Evenepoel (Quick Step).

The retreat of Domenico Pozzovivo (Intermarchè) is worth noting.
