The red jersey resists uphill and then lands the winning shot in a restricted sprint

Fourth stage of the women's Vuelta , 133.1km from Cuenca to Guadalajara, in the final the Alto de Horche, not particularly difficult (4km at 4.7%). The group appears compact at the beginning of the ascent with the Movistar setting the pace, no athlete attempts personal action, but only twenty-five manage to resist including the red Vos jersey. Just after the GPM, many of them try to take advantage, but none manage to make a difference, so we arrive at a tight sprint on a long straight against the wind. Reusser tries to anticipate the sprint, but it is once again Marianne Vos who has the winning point ahead of Norsgaard and Reusser . Silvia Persico closes eighth despite a crash during the stage. The general classification does not undergo particular variations with Vos remaining the leader and the best ones arriving in the leading group.
