Julian Alaphilippe is one of the prized pieces in all Fantacycling teams and auctions. 2022, however, was an annus horribilis for the two-time world champion, often dogged by bad luck.

The Frenchman, after a not so exciting start in the first part of the season, took fourth place at the Freccia Wallonne (race won the previous year and for a total of three times in his career) and then crashed during the Liège-Bastogne- Liège. A bad accident in which Alaphilippe even risked his life (remember the rescue of his compatriot Romain Bardet) and which negatively influenced the entire 2022 of the champion from Saint-Armand-Montrond.  

In all of 2022, at the Fantacycling, Alaphilippe collected 553 points , not much for a rider who at the beginning of the season had a quotation of 53 fantamillions (closing in fact at 37 fantamillions ).

In 2021, in fact, the Frenchman, in addition to confirming the world title conquered the previous year, collected 3895 points in Fantasy cycling , a real fortune for the fantasy managers who had bet on him.

The biggest question, in fact, will be whether or not to bet on Alaphilippe this season at Fantacycling , especially in bidding auctions. It's difficult to make a prediction now, but the sharp drop in performance in 2022 (albeit with a strong mitigating factor) certainly doesn't make you want to invest in him.
