No Vuelta di Spagna for Egan Bernal . The definitive denial of the Colombian's return program after the serious accident suffered last January, when during a training session in his country he crashed into a bus stopped on the side of the road, comes from Ineos Grenadiers .

The team has in fact summoned Bernal for the Tour of Denmark which will start tomorrow, August 16th, together with Omar Fraile, Geraint Thomas, Michal Kwiatkowski, Jhonathan Narvaez, Magnus Sheffield and Ben Swift.

Previously it was Javier Guillen, director of the Vuelta, who announced the participation of the winner of the Giro 2021 and the Tour 2019 in the Iberian race. But, obviously, Bernal is not yet ready for the three weeks of competition: a slower recovery is needed and, above all, without pressure .
