World Tour race, it takes place on Wednesday

Category 5 race, the Bruges-De Panne calls together the sprinters who will fight for the final victory in the World Tour race on Wednesday 22 March. The planned 207.4 km are completely flat or, in any case, without particular difficulties: in the second part of the race, the runners will face a final circuit of 48 km.

Pay attention to some stretches of cobblestones, narrow streets exposed to the wind and, above all, to falls.

Absent last year's winner, Tim Merlier, the list of favorites starts with Fabio Jakobsen of Soudal Quick Step and Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin, who have not yet won De Panne but who appear to be the fittest in the lot of pretenders to success the final. In third wheel we find Jayco AlUla's Dylan Groenewegen , winner of the 2019 edition, and Bora's Sam Bennett , first in 2021, even if the latter is back from a crash at the Milan-Sanremo: therefore his conditions are all to be verified.

The UAE Emirates presents a double option with Pascal Ackermann and Juan Sebastian Molano , recent winner in Denain. Movistar's Fernando Gaviria , Team Dsm's Sam Welsford and Alberto Dainese , Lotto's Caleb Ewan , Intermarché's Gerben Thijssen , Jumbo's Olav Kooij and Bahrain's Phil Bauhaus could also do well.

Let's not forget Arnaud Demare of Groupama, Mark Cavendish of Astana, Giacomo Nizzolo of Israel and Simone Consonni of Cofidis even if, in this case, a placement outside the top 5 is more likely.
