The Frenchman: "After a difficult year, I want to win again"

Remi Cavagna signs a two-year contract with Groupama FDJ . The Frenchman, after a subdued season at Movistar , by his own admission, is looking for redemption in his homeland.

“After a year in which I was unable to fully express myself, I am joining Groupama-FDJ for the next two years,” says Cavagna . “As cycling evolves so rapidly, I like the team’s focus on technical development, particularly in time trials. Such close collaboration between the cycling team, riders and the R&D department is rare and very valuable. This is what motivated my choice. I have always been an offensive rider. I have had a difficult year, but I want to return to my roots and practice my sport with the aim of winning races. Cycling is what makes me happy. Victory is part of the motivation and the result of hard work.”

The Groupama FDJ team 's sports director, Philippe Mauduit , commented on Cavagna's signing: "Rémi is a rider who is a symbol of the French group. He is one of those riders with extraordinary potential. We immediately understood that we wanted to bring him with us. Rémi fits perfectly into the culture of the team, which places time trials among its priorities, along with all the development work on the Supersonica SLR in collaboration with Wilier Triestina and our Research and Development department. It is a great challenge for us to help Rémi get back to his best and to have him join a French team for the first time. We expect him to shine in time trials. We imagine a high-level pairing with Stefan in time trials. He is also a very aggressive rider who will easily integrate into our team. We are looking forward to working together."
