The Briton climbs in the overall victories in the grand laps

Mark Cavendish never ceases to amaze. The Briton, after winning the first real sprint of this Giro d'Italia , proved, if still needed, that he is still one of the best sprinters around. True, a train like that of the Quick Step would suit many, especially the last man Morkov (probably the best wingman in the sprints), but then you need the legs, the determination, the desire to win again. So here it is not enough to look at the last meters of the sprint in which "cannonball" preceded Démare and Gaviria, but we also need to take a look at the numbers, often cold, but this time tremendously true.

Cavendish reached 160 career victories , climbing to 16 stages won in the Giro d'Italia . But there is more, with this success the Briton reached 53 overall successes in the three great tours (Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta), putting himself in the wake of another great sprint like Mario Cipollini (57 victories for him).

In first place is Eddie Merckx with 64 stage wins , one who has always been in another category.

In short, Cavendish opened this Giro d'Italia in a great way and it is not excluded that, in addition to stage victories, he may also aim for the cyclamen jersey , to the delight of all those who bet on him at Fantacycling , both in the championship and in the Discovery and Experience sponsored leagues.
