Surprise transfer move: Victor Langellotti leaves Netcompany-Ineos

International cycling is enriched by a dramatic turn of events by Victor Langellotti . The Monegasque rider has left Netcompany-Ineos with immediate effect to join XDS-Astana, taking advantage of the rare mid-season transfer window that the UCI regulations allow from 2024 onwards.

The thirty-one-year-old climber will debut the new jersey next week at the Tour de Pologne, before aiming to compete in his third Vuelta a España, the 2026 edition of which will start near his home in Monaco. The contract he has signed will bind him to the Kazakh team until the end of the 2027 season.

It should be remembered that the UCI regulations, introduced in 2024, allow riders to change teams in the first two weeks of August, provided that there is a tripartite agreement between the two teams involved and the rider himself, usually accompanied by the payment of a transfer fee to the previous club.

Due to regulatory reasons regarding the maximum number of female riders (31), XDS-Astana had to make some compensatory moves: the young Italian Florian Kajamini was sold to ProTeam MBH Bank CSB ​​Telecom Fort, while the Greek sprinter Nikoforos Arvanitou was hired as a trainee for the rest of the season.
