Remco Evenepoel won the 45th edition of the Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa, a World Tour race held in the Basque Country over a distance of 221.2 km.

The initial stage featured an unsuccessful breakaway from afar. The race heated up on the Erlaitz climb with about forty kilometers to go. A small group remained in front, joined by Evenepoel after a chase of several kilometers caused by a puncture.

On the final climb of the day, the grueling 2km of Murgil with an average gradient of 10.1%, Evenepoel took the lead, followed by Carapaz. Despite the hard work of Christen and Narvaez, UAE remained empty-handed. The two were left alone, with Ciccone unable to catch them, and the chance to win the race was a dead heat.

There was no contest in the sprint: Evenepoel won his fourth San Sebastian, beating Carapaz and Tulett, who won the sprint. Scaroni finished fourth, Ciccone sixth.
