Tarling and Roglic on the stage podium

Remco Evenepoel wins the time trial of the fourth stage at the Tour of Dauphiné.

The Belgian, world champion in the specialty, covered the 34.4 km of the route from Saint-Germain-Laval to Neulise in 41'49" at 49.3 km/h.

Tarling starts much earlier than the other men in the rankings and climbs to the top of the virtual ranking; for over two hours no one manages to match his time. Evenepoel runs a time trial substantially identical to the Briton in the first two split times, and then gains 17" in the final part, slightly uphill.

In third place is Roglic , who perhaps started too slowly, the Slovenian arriving 39" behind Evenepoel.

The other men in the standings all lose more than a minute from the Belgian. Evenepoel takes the yellow jersey off Derek Gee's shoulders (good 6th place today) and leads the general classification ahead of Roglic and Jorgenson.
