Michael Vanthorenhout wins the 2022 cyclocross European Championships in Namour . The Belgian preceded the Dutchman Lars Van Der Haar who managed to defend the title he won last year. Third place for another Belgian rider, Laurens Sweeck , who was among the few to defend himself in a race conditioned by the pouring rain and abundant mud on the course.

Many riders had difficulties and fell, especially in a couple of points of the course: out of the question right from the start, one of the great favorites, the Belgian Eli Iserbyt.
