Route and favorites to deploy your formation

Paris-Roubaix, the latest cycling madness, needs no introduction. But let's take a look at the route: 259.2 kilometers, completely flat with an endless series of cobblestone sectors. There are 30 of them for a total of 55.3 kilometers.

The first sector will be after almost 100 km of racing but the decisive phase will probably take place at the passage of the Arenberg Forest, 2,300 meters to be pedaled in front of the group with the hope of avoiding falls and punctures.

At 45 km from the finish line is the Mons-en-Pévèle sector, 3 km long and rated 5 stars. Another crucial moment will be the passage to the Carrefour de l'Arbre sector, another 2100 meters of five stars about fifteen kilometers from the finish line scheduled, as always, inside the Roubaix velodrome.

The favourites - There are those who have already won it twice, like Mathieu Van der Poel, those who are coming off two second places in a row like his teammate Jasper Philipsen, those who are looking for glory and their first success in a Monument like Mads Pedersen, Filippo Ganna and Stefan Kung, and those who are looking for sporting redemption after so much bad luck like Wout Van Aert.

And then there's him, Tadej Pogacar, making his debut on the cobbles towards Roubaix, chasing a triumph that would be sensational.

No one else seems to be able to worry the big favorites we mentioned. Jasper Stuyven, Nils Politt and Tim Merlier deserve a mention.

Then watch out for surprises, especially if the weather is bad.
