First escape at the finish line, 2nd Burgaudeau, 3rd Castroviejo
Stage number six of the Dauphine Tour : 170.2 km with departure from Nantua and uphill finish at Crest-Voland. The numerous breakaway of fourteen riders split up along the road, Castroviejo , Zimmermann and Burgaudeau together over the Col des Aravis with over 1' lead over the yellow jersey group, 18 km from the finish. On the final ascent Zimmermann attacks first, Burgaudeau manages to catch him in the last hundreds of meters, Zimmermann however still has the strength to sprint and manages to win in the sprint. The classification men reach the finish line together, despite an attack by Vingegaard , promptly closed by the other runners. Castroviejo completes the podium of the day, while Ciccone wins the bunch sprint and finishes fourth.
