Stefan Kung won the first stage of the Tour of Switzerland, a 12.7 km individual time trial starting and finishing in Einsiedeln.

The Swiss rider of Groupama Fdj, first leader of the general classification, finished with a time of 13'31" at an average speed of 56.375 km/h. Second place for Remco Evenepoel , six seconds behind, third Wout Van Aert at 10". Matteo Sobrero (Team Jayco AlUla) is also in the top ten.
