Movistar splits the peloton on the climbs; Ciccone wears pink.
Jhonatan Narvaez wins the fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Catanzaro to Cosenza (138 km).
The day's breakaway of five riders (Bais, Barguil, Marcelusi, Larsen and Rafferty) approached the Cozzo Tunno climb with less than a minute on the group.
On the climb, Movistar imposed a high pace from the early stages, with the sprinters immediately breaking away and subsequently losing contact with even the most resistant riders, including the pink jersey Silva .
Indeed, 1.5 km from the summit, Bernal lost contact, but he escaped and managed to return to the plain.
The sprint ends with only 40 riders. Christen tries to get ahead, but Sobrero closes in. Aular launches the sprint, Ciccone tries to get away from him, but Narvaez gets the better of the two and wins clearly.
Ciccone finishes 3rd and takes the pink jersey.
