Del Toro Dominates; Uijtdebroeks in Top 10, But Below Expectations
Who were the best young riders of 2024 at Fantacycling?
Isaac Del Toro was, without a doubt, the young rider who brought the most satisfaction to his fantasy managers: the Mexican, initially quoted at 3, obtained 1586 fantasy points , placing himself at the Tour Down Under, the Tirreno and the Itzulia, in the second part of the season he dropped; will he be able to maintain this performance also in 2025?
In second place in the special classification is a solid Gregoire , with 1109 points, who has achieved good placings throughout the season and a good 4th place in the Tour of Poland.
Nys (837 points) completes the podium, having exploded since the end of April with 5 stage victories between Romandy, Switzerland and Poland.
Slightly below expectations were Lenny Martinez (780 points) and Tarling (752 points): the Frenchman placed in Catalunya and Romandie, before disappearing for the rest of the year, while the British time trialist never found victories in the WT and limited himself to a few placings in time trials, in addition to a good 6th place in Flanders.
Mikhels was the best sprinter among the U21s , with 752 points; the Estonian placed in numerous bunch sprints and also showed good signs in the classics: 10th at Roubaix and 3rd at the European Championships.
Poole (726 points), Hagenes (685 points) and Segaert (551 points) continue the special ranking, all talents in continuous improvement and from whom a definitive leap in quality is expected in the coming seasons.
Closing the top ten is Uijtdebroeks , probably the biggest disappointment among the young riders: the Belgian, after an encouraging 2023 with numerous placings in stage races, was unable to repeat himself and took home only 515 fantasy points, seeing his value drop from 22 to 17.
