“I read somewhere that I will ride the Giro, so maybe I will ride the Giro,” Vingegaard told TV2. “We haven’t decided anything yet. We’ll do that later. But I think the Tour is still the pinnacle of cycling. If I think that doing the double is good preparation and I see the possibility of winning, I think it would be nice to ride there. But it shouldn’t be at the expense of winning the Tour.”

Vingegaard 's position is clear, however, he keeps the Tour de France at the center of his season, but is open to participating in the Giro: "It is clear that you can run the Giro and the Tour in the same year. We saw it with Pogacar. So we have to see what we decide. The big goal will certainly be to run the Tour de France. If you think that the Giro is good preparation, then you can choose to leave. But there are also many more unforeseen events in stage races than in a training camp".
