TotalEnergies will also compete next season, albeit under a different name. Rumors had recently swirled about the French team's possible departure from the circuit due to the withdrawal of its main sponsor. Without that revenue, the team would not have the funds necessary to submit its application for the 2027 season, along with the required bank guarantee to the UCI by October 15th.
However, these rumors are being denied by the words of longtime general manager Jean-René Bernaudeau : “It’s an intense situation, but we’ll make it,” declared Bernaudeau. “Our project is valid, the budget will be found […] We’ve significantly reduced the requested amount and partners are arriving; we’ll be at the 2027 Tour de France .”
The names of the sponsors that will support the team next year are not yet known, but according to what Bernaudeau told Ouest-France, there could be news in the next few days: in any case, the team will remain in the Professional category.
The team is reportedly supported by the Vendée Departmental Council and a network of regional businesses, and according to DirectVelo, some riders currently on the roster are willing to make a financial commitment to remain with the French team. They will also be joined by some members of the development team, Vendée U, while other riders whose contracts with various teams, including some in the WorldTour, have been contacted to join the team and are still waiting to respond.
