Niewiadoma tries the feat in the last stage of the Tour of Switzerland : he attacks at -50 km and manages to gain more than 2' on the yellow jersey group, an advantage that would allow him to overtake Reusser and win the general classification. Just Reusser , with 20 km to go, takes charge of the chase himself, almost managing to catch up with the leading duo formed by Niewiadoma and Fisher-Black. The final sprint was easily won by Fisher-Black who preceded a very tired Niewiadoma and her teammate Reusser who won the Tour of Switzerland .

The podium of the general classification is completed by Vollering and Longo Borghini .
