Pedersen and Ackermann beaten

Olav Kooij (Team Visma) wins the fifth stage of the Paris-Nice from Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut to Sisteron (193.5km).

A breakaway of six riders enlivens the day, but the group keeps it under control, not giving it particular space. In fact, shortly after the intermediate sprint, 12 km from the finish line, the six attackers were reabsorbed.

The stage is decided by a group sprint in which the Lidl-Trek works perfectly for Mads Pedersen , who however lacks his legs at the end. Kooij makes a great comeback and beats the Dane and Ackermann .

Plapp keeps the yellow jersey, while Pedersen consoles himself by jumping to the top of the points classification.

Tomorrow's stage is difficult to interpret with two short but very demanding climbs at -30 km and a finish that tends to climb.
