Victory in a narrow sprint over Lipowitz and Martinez
Tadej Pogacar wins the first stage of the Tour de Romandie, starting and finishing in Martigny (174 km).
The initial 7-man breakaway did not scare the group who closed in on the attackers at the foot of the decisive climb of Ovronnaz .
After a brief work by the UAE, Pogacar attacked 7km from the summit, with Roglic and L. Martinez following close behind.
Roglic breaks away, while Lipowitz joins from behind to form a leading trio.
No one accelerates again and after the descent Nordhagen also comes back in.
The victory was then decided in a four-man sprint, with Nordhagen trying to get ahead, but Pogacar won clearly ahead of Lipowitz and Martinez .
The rest of the group is set by W. Philipsen at 20".
