A relaxed smile and a typical French shrug. With this eloquent gesture, Dominique Serieys , team manager of Decathlon CMA CGM, answered the most burning question of the moment in the professional cycling paddock: what does he think of the fact that Visma-Lease a Bike has joined the long list of teams wanting to snatch the super talent Paul Seixas from his colors?
"We're confident," Serieys told Cyclingnews from the team bus. "We're focused on helping Paul at the Tour de France. He has a contract until 2027. Others can say what they want, we'll follow our own path."
Clear words, almost contemptuous of the competition. And the reason for such calm is understandable: Serieys seems to already have its strategy in mind to secure the man who is poised to become the next great world cycling champion.
