The Slovenian analyses the season and talks about his next goals
Tadej Ppogacar is the number one favorite for the world championship in Zurich next Sunday. The Slovenian champion has had a dream season, with the Giro d'Italia - Tour de France double and with twenty-two total victories.
Pogacar , however, does not want to stop there, as he confessed in an interview with Dr. Peter Attia in his Podcast: "I have the feeling that Sanremo will be the race that will send me to the cemetery. I have already been so close, and yet I feel like I am so far from being able to win it. Now, however, the first thing I want to win is the World Championship, then I will think about Sanremo and if there is a way I will also try to win Paris-Roubaix.
And then there is the Vuelta where I want to return to try to win the Red Jersey. As for the Olympics, we will have to see the Los Angeles 2028 route, hopefully it will be for climbers. But for us cyclists the Olympics do not have the same importance as for other athletes. Our real goal every year is the Tour de France, and I want to continue trying to win that as well as long as I enjoy doing it”.
On winning so much, and being compared to the "Cannibal" Eddy Merckx, Pogacar comments: "“There are not many people who say that, only those who hate me do it but obviously they are the ones who have something against me, it's normal. While even people who are not rooting for me but are neutral say that I shouldn't hold back. It's the media, commentators and journalists who like to say these things just because they have something controversial to talk about. I did the math, this year I won 12 stages in the Grand Tours and I think we worked to control and win 7 stages, a little more than half, it's not that bad”.
The Slovenian is the most sought-after and most valuable rider in Fantacycling (86 fantamillions) and the one who will certainly not be missing from the World Championship Official League lineups, the league that with the contribution of one euro and ninety-nine cents, will allow you to have fantastic gifts.
