The world champion spoke at the Trento Sports Festival

Tadej Pogacar is the man of the moment and his victories are forcefully crossing the world of cycling to already consecrate him as a legend of the sport.

Pogacar, however, lives in the present and, after his success at the Giro di Lombardia , he enjoys the moment, elegantly dribbles comparisons with Merckx and looks towards the future, with the never hidden goal of winning the Milano Sanremo : "There will always be someone faster than me but I can try by attacking in some way, I've been thinking about it for a while but trying to win it will be really challenging".

Thoughts that the world champion expressed at the Festival dello Sport in Trento , then dwelling on the thought of trying to win the Vuelta a España after the Giro d'Italia-Tour de France double: "After the Tour I thought about it, but my body needed rest. Going to the Vuelta would have meant missing the World Championships. This year it would have been impossible. My goal was to get the rainbow jersey so the decisions I made were right. We'll see in the next few years".

Pogacar then focused on his opponents: "“My rivals are Roglic , who has had bad luck in recent years, but also Van der Poel , with whom we are opponents in the classics. And then Remco Evenepoel , in any race I have to be very careful. I always get along with everyone, even if you can't say we are friends. But we are not enemies, because we want to defeat each other in the race".

The Slovenian also responded to the responses of the younger fans, leaving them with a thought: “When I was your age, I took part in races where I finished last or sometimes I didn’t even reach the finish line. You must never give up: you have to work hard, you have to commit yourself. In the end, your efforts will reward you.”
