First stages in the sprint: Philipsen wins in Belgium, Groenewegen triumphs in the Tour of Slovenia

Both the first stages of these two Pro Series stage races are decided in the sprint

A thrilling finale in the first stage of the Tour of Slovenia with the three-man breakaway, made up of Tonelli, Fedeli and Eriksson, which is resumed in the last hundreds of metres. The final sprint is resolved with a splendid head-to-head between Bahuaus and Groenewegen with the latter managing to get the better of the finish line in Rogaska Slatina. Matteo Moschetti takes third place.

At the Tour of Belgium Mathieu Van der Poel tries to attack, together with 7 other riders, 66 km from the finish. On the final walls, the leading group was reduced and only Tiller, Van der Poel, De Buyst and C.Pedersen remained in the lead. However, the quartet is taken up by the main group at the 2km. Van der Poel is still invaluable for the team and launches the sprint from his team mate Philipsen at the perfect moment ahead of Jakobsen and Dupont .
