Bastien Tronchon wins the tenth stage of the Vuelta España, from Alcaraz to Elche de la Sierra (184.7 km).

In pre-stage interviews, Van Aert stated that Visma would have kept the race closed and, consequently, the fight for the breakaway was not particularly heated, with some second-line riders attempting an attack: Paleni, Gogl, Dversnes, Sutterlin, Cobo, Weiss and Fernandez managed to break away almost immediately.

On the Puerto de Sovocovos , the breakaway reaches the top with a 30" margin, while someone behind tries to move, including some big names like Kuss, Carapaz and Mas who make themselves visible in the top positions.

In the rough sections of the final stretch, Dversnes tries to hold off, joined by Elosegui, Kuss, and Vader. However, the group closes in on the final climb. Fedorov and Azparren try to get ahead, but are caught right in the middle of the sprint.

The sprint was absolutely frenetic and unpredictable, with Tronchon managing to outfox Cort and Nys . Van Aert, who remained behind at the decisive moment, finished fourth.
