The Belgian joins the right breakaway that manages to reach the finish line

Edward Theuns (Lidl-Trek) wins the Bredene Koksijde Classic (1.Pro), a 200.9 km Belgian race.

The race heats up about a hundred kilometres from the finish line, on the final stretches of cobblestones, with a group of 15 riders gaining an advantage over the main peloton and maintaining a lead of around 1'.

From -30 km the group starts to pull and significantly reduces the advantage, but struggles to rejoin the attackers. The leaders are caught at the last bend, but it is not enough: Theuns , from the head, anticipates the sprint, resists the return of Lamperti and triumphs. 3rd step of the podium for Eekhoff . Romele closes in 10th place.
