Filippo Ganna remains leader of the general classification
Fabio Jakobsen wins the second stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico from Camaiore to Follonica of 210 km. The Dutchman precedes Jasper Philpsen and Fernando Gaviria in the sprint, while Biniam Girmay finishes in fourth place.
The race is characterized by the attack from afar by five riders: Mirco Maestri (Eolo-Kometa), Alessandro Iacchi (Team Corratec), Roland Thalmann (Tudor Pro Cycling Team), Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) and Stefano Gandin (Team Corratec ), but the last two are taken over by the group.
Gandin, however, wins the sprint on the day's mountain grand prix in Castellina Marittima and tomorrow he will wear the jersey of the best climber. Maestri, Iacchi and Thalmann remain in command but are caught up with about 25 km to go.
In the sprint Gaviria tries to anticipate everyone, but Jakobsen overtakes him in progression and wins, ahead of Philipsen and the Colombian himself. Filippo Ganna remains the leader of the general classification.
