Jasper Philipsen wins the third stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico from Follonica to Foligno , 216 km.

The Belgian from Alpecin Deceunick, driven to perfection by Mathieu Van der Poel, precedes Phil Bauhaus and Biniam Girmay in the sprint

Stage characterized by the attack of four men, Davide and Mattia Bais of the Eolo-Kometa Team ; Alessandro Iacchi and Stefano Gandin of Team Corrate c. After 101 km of racing Davide Bais sprints first on the mountain grand prix of La Foce, thus taking away the jersey of best climber from Gandin , who is taken back by the group together with his teammate Iacchi .

The two brothers Davide and Mattia Bais remain in command, with the group controlling the gap without too much concern and catching them 70 km from the finish.  

The group proceeds together up to 10 km from the finish line, when an acceleration by Wout Van Aert breaks up the group and leaves only about twenty men in the lead; in addition to the Jumbo Visma block (with Roglic and Benoot), Julian Alaphilippe, Damiano Caruso, Filippo Ganna, Ben O'Connor, Brandon McNulty, Lennard Kamna and Magnus Sheffield are not surprised, while among the sprinters there are Girmay, Molano and Philipsen .

With 4 km to go, however, the group regroups and prepares for the final sprint.  

There Philipsen, driven in an exemplary way by Mathieu Van der Poel, didn't let himself be surprised and sprinted in front of Bauhaus and Girmay; fourth place for a good Matteo Moschetti.

Filippo Ganna remains leader of the general classification.
