The Italian is the new leader of the general classification
Jonathan Milan wins the fourth stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico from Arrone to Giulianova , 207 km long.
The Italian from Lidl Trek gets the better of Philipsen, Strong and Girmay in the final straight.
Six riders attempt the action from afar: Davide Bais and Mirco Maestri of Team Polti Kometa, Lorenzo Quartucci (Team Corratec - Vini Fantini), Alexander Kamp (Tudor), Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno - X Mobility) and Alex Tolio (Bardiani). The attacking group gains an advantage of around 5', with the controlling group pulled by the Soudal Quick Step men.
Only three remain in front, Maestri, Kamp and Abrahamsen, and the last one to give up is the rider of Uno - X, who is only reached by the group at the last 200 metres.
Then in the final sprint Milan managed to overtake Philipsen, Strong and Girmay, with a great breakthrough in the last 50 metres.
Jonathan Milan, with this success, also becomes the new leader of the general classification, with four seconds ahead of Ayuso and eighteen over Vaquelin.
