Jasper Philpsen wins the second stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico from Camaiore to Follonica , 198 km.

The Belgian precedes his compatriot Tim Merlier and Binam Girmay in the sprint.

Stage for sprinters, with four men testing the attack from afar: Jan Stöckli and Lorenzo Quartucci of Corratec Vini Fantini , Davide Bais ( Team Polit Cometa ) and Filippo Magli ( Bardiani ).  

The small group of escapees broke up at the flying finish line in Canneto 60 km from the end, with Stöckli passing first and remaining alone in the lead of the race with an advantage of about a minute and a half over the main group.

The Swiss from Corratec Vini Fantini is caught 37 km from the finish line and the sprinter teams prepare for the final sprint in Follonica. Cavendish loses ground due to a puncture on the first pass of the final circuit, so in the final sprint the duel is between Philpsen and Merlier. The Soudal Quick Step sprinter launches the sprint first, but anticipates the times too much and Philipsen overtakes him without too many problems, winning clearly and obtaining victory number 43 of his professional career.

Everything unchanged in the general classification with Juan Ayuso in the leader's blue jersey.
