Primoz Roglic won the fifth stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, from Morro d'Oro to Sassotetto - Fonte Lardina of 165.6 km with an early arrival uphill of about 3 km due to strong winds. The Jumbo Visma rider, new leader of the general classification and winner of yesterday's stage, preceded Giulio Ciccone and Tao Geoghegan Hart in a restricted sprint.

Nothing doing for Damiano Caruso, who after a sprint 4.5 km from the finish was caught up in the final meters of the race by a small group that then fought for the final win.
