The Dane dominates uphill and is the new overall leader

Jonas Vingegaard won the fifth stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, from Torricella Sicura to Valle Castellana of 144 km.

The Dane from Visma begins his show on the San Giacomo climb, 29 km from the finish, and immediately clears the air. Behind him, Ben O'Connor and Jay Hindley try to resist and are then caught by Juan Ayuso , Thymen Arensman, Cian Uijtdebroeks, Ivan Ramiro Sosa (who breaks away on the descent) and Isaac Del Toro.

Vingegaard only reaches the finish line and wears the overall leader's jersey. Behind him, over a minute away, Ayuso and Hindley.

Tomorrow I arrive uphill on Monte Petrano.
