Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates) wins the second stage of the Tour de France, from Tarragona to Barcelona, 168.5 km.
Three of them break away in the breakaway: Molenaar , Engelhardt and Van der Broek , with the group controlling them without any particular problems.
Apart from a couple of crashes and a mechanical problem for Del Toro and Seixas, not much happens until the entrance to the circuit with the Col de Montjuic to be repeated 3 times.
On the first two passes, McNulty takes charge of the pace, with no one attempting to attack. This leaves about fifty riders in the peloton.
Even on the final climb, no one was able to make a difference, and so it came down to a 20-man uphill sprint: Del Toro launched Pogacar , but the two men outdistanced all their opponents, and the world champion thus handed the victory to the Mexican. Evenepoel finished third ahead of Vingegaard .
