Vollering wins the race, Van Vleuten off the podium

Marlen Reusser won the eighth and final stage of the Tour de France Femmes, a 22.6km individual time trial starting and finishing in Pau.

The reigning European champion of the specialty finished in 29'15" ahead of the yellow jersey Demi Vollering by 10 seconds and the Belgian Lotte Kopecky by 38", all athletes of SD Worx, the dominating team of the 2023 season.

Vollering won his first Tour thanks to yesterday's feat on the Tourmalet. The podium is completed by an extraordinary Kopecky and Katarzyna Niewiadoma of Canyon Sram Racing. Annemiek Van Vleuten , after winning by dominating the last editions of the Vuelta, Giro and Tour, also lost the podium finishing fourth.

The top three Italians in the standings are Erica Magnaldi in 13th place, Silvia Persico 14th and Marta Cavalli 19th.
