Ricarda Bauernfeind won stage five of the Tour de France femmes, the 126.1km Onet-le-Château-Albi.

On the day in which the favorite of the day, Lorena Wiebes, didn't start, the stage ended with the breakaway of Bauernfeind, who took off 36 km from the finish and was able to maintain a discrete advantage until the finish line.

Behind the 23-year-old German from the Canyon/SRAM Racing team were Marlene Reusser and Liane Lippert about twenty seconds behind. Immediately after the group of the best regulated by the yellow jersey, Lotte Kopecky.
