Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) wins the nineteenth stage of the Tour de France, starting from Embrun and finishing uphill in Isola 2000 (144.6 km).

The day's breakaway manages to form on the Col de Vars , initially made up of nine riders; on the Cime de la Bonette six remain in command: Cristian Rodriguez , Hindley , Jorgenson , Kelderman , S.Yates and Carapaz , with the latter winning both gpm hors categories and overtaking Pogacar at the top of the polka dot jersey classification.

The yellow jersey group, led by the men of UAE Team Emirates, tops the hill with 3'30" of the pacesetters.

On the final climb, 13 km from the finish line, Jorgenson attacks and remains alone in the lead, still with the same advantage over the best group.

9 km from the finish Pogacar takes off and tries to take the American back into the lead for the stage victory. The Slovenian completes the comeback with 2 km to go and flies solo towards his fourth victory in this Grande Boucle .

Behind him are Jorgenson and S.Yates. Evenepoel fails to break away from Vingegaard in the fight for second place in the general classification.
