Stage number fifteen of the Tour de France which closes the second week of the race: it goes from Les Gets les Portes du Soleil to Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, for a total of 179 km.

In the early stages of the race, a maxi breakaway of almost 40 athletes is formed, which is selected as the kilometers and climbs go by. On the Col de Aravis, 30 km from the finish, a trio made up of Van Aert , Soler and Poels detaches their breakaway companions and shows up at the foot of the last two ascents, placed in succession, more than 1' ahead of the peloton pursuer and over 7' on the yellow jersey group.

As soon as the Cote des Amerands started, Wout Poels accelerated and remained alone in the lead . The Dutchman of Bahrain-Victorious continues to increase his advantage also on the final climb and triumphs solo at the finish line in Saint-Gervais. Behind him are Van Aert second and Burgaudeau third.

In the group of the best the challenge is always between Pogacar and Vingegaard with the Slovenian attacking in the last kilometer with a sharp sprint, but the Dane doesn't give up a meter and maintains his 10” lead in the general standings.
