The Australian race gets underway in less than a week
Less than a week at the start of the Fantacycling and the moment is approaching to enter the first formations of the season with the Tour Down Under , starting on January 17th . The various teams are starting to formalize the formations at the start of the Australian race which they will then repeat (with rare exceptions) also in the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
In Fantacycling, especially in the championship mode, it will be important to choose a shortlist of riders in which there are elements that will take part in the Australian races , to get off to a good start right away.
Among the men in the standings there will be riders of the caliber of Pello Bilbao ( Bahrain Victorious ), Simon Yates ( Team Jayco AlUla ), both already confirmed, while the presence of Geraint Thomas ( Team Ineos ) is not yet confirmed, but very probable, and the winner of the last Giro d'Italia, Jay Hindley ( Bora Hansgrohe).
The Soudal Quick Step team has already been confirmed, which will line up the Italian Mattia Cattaneo , as well as the Swiss Mauro Schmid and the British James Knox , while Team Uae (also with the complete startlist) will rely on the new Australian champion Jay Vine , New Zealander George Bennet t, as well as Marc Hirschi and Italian talent Alessandro Covi .
An eye also to the sprinters: the presence of Phil Bauhaus ( Bahrain Victorious ), Michael Matthews ( Team Jayco AlUla ), Bryan Coquard and Davide Cimolai ( Cofidis ) and Caleb Ewan , who will race with the Australian selection, have already been confirmed.
Also beware of Daryl Impey ( Israel - Premier Tech ); rider starting at the end of his career, but still able to do well and who has won the Tour Down Under twice in his career in 2018 and 2019.
Day by day, you can check the update of the startlists on our app, in the dedicated section, as well as modify your team, with unlimited changes, until the start of the Australian race; after that the exchange rate limit will kick in. We will give you all the info on the Tour Down Under in next Sunday's YouTube and Twitch live streams (January 15th) , while we will keep you company tomorrow evening with the now customary "crazy auction", in which some members of our staff will give life (live on YouTube) to a Fantacycling auction not to be missed.
