The Australian is the new leader of the general classification

Double blow for Rohan Dennis . Jumbo Visma's Australian won stage two of the 154km Tour Down Under, Brighton to Victor Harbor, to become the new leader in the general classification.

At the finish line Dennis preceded his compatriot Jay Vine by a couple of seconds, then Mauro Schmid and Simon Yates. To be mocked in the final was Jay Hindley, overtaken by a Dennis in great shape. The five had taken advantage thanks to an attack on the last mountain grand prix of the day with 20 km to go.

The peloton, which arrived about ten seconds late, was adjusted by Caleb Ewan . More than two minutes behind Alberto Bettiol , who was first in the general until yesterday, and Michael Matthews .
