The top riders at the start were presented today

There is now less than a week to go until the start of the 2026 Tour of the Alps , which will start on Monday 20 April from   Innsbruck , the capital of Tyrol . Five days of boundless challenges await the protagonists of the stage races.   from 20 to 24 April , in an event that, as per tradition, promises spectacle and great uncertainty, confirming itself as one of the most exciting events of the cycling spring.


But there's more: this year too, and this year more than ever in the edition celebrating the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Euro-regional Memorandum of Understanding, the Tour of the Alps isn't content to be a sporting competition. The roads of the Euregio   will come alive with a rich   calendar of events and collateral initiatives , designed to involve a wide and varied audience, from the youngest to the oldest. An opportunity to tell the authenticity of   Tyrol ,   South Tyrol   And   Trentino , celebrating the beauty of cycling: a sport that has always thrived on sharing, passion, and human connection.

Announcing an edition of the Tour of the Alps with very high technical content is the presence of the first three classified of the 2025 edition: the Australian   Michael Storer , the Dutchman   Thymen Arensman   and the Canadian   Derek Gee . The mosaic consists of seven World Tour teams and a high-quality field, with the Italian   Julius Pellizzari   indicated among the main favourites on the eve.

Italy, dry in the general classification since 2013 – the year of Vincenzo Nibali's Giro del Trentino-Giro d'Italia double – has high hopes for Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe). After his third place at the Tirreno-Adriatico, the rider from the Marche region is aiming to shine in the Giro d'Italia, with the goal of winning the   Melinda Green Jersey   and, subsequently, play his cards for a podium finish in the Corsa Rosa. Alongside him,   Alexander Vlasov   and three Italians: the climber   John Aleotti   and the young talents   Davide Donati , winner of the Paris-Roubaix U23, and the Under 23 World Champion   Lorenzo Finn , recently winner of the Giro del Belvedere and the Palio del Recioto.


Among the most anticipated protagonists are also   Ben O'Connor , second two years ago, and   Jefferson Cepeda , leader of Jayco-AlUla and EF Education-EasyPost, respectively. Bahrain Victorious, on the other hand, is focusing on the young riders, with its bets on the latest winner of the Giro d'Italia Next Gen.   Jakob Omrzel , and for Team Picnic-PostNL, led by   Max Poole . The Swiss team from Team Pinarello Q36.5 will also be at the start.


The Italian teams – MBH Bank CSB ​​Telecom (with Hungarian license), Bardiani CSF Faizanè, Team Polti VisitMalta and Solution Tech NIPPO Rali, which will field the returning Domenico Pozzovivo   – will instead try to liven up the race, together with the Austrians of Team Vorarlberg and the Japanese of Team UKYO.
