Double for the British who anticipates the other big names in a narrow sprint

Stage number two of the Tour of the Alps, it starts from Reith im Alpbachtal and arrives in Ritten for a total of 165.2km.

Simon Carr   (EF Education-EasyPost) puts the group to the test: he breaks away with three other riders, detaches them on the Barbiano climb and climbs solo with over 1' ahead of the main group.

On the last ascent of the day, the Mittelberg (3.8km at 8.3%), the INEOS Grenadiers increased the pace and managed to catch the fugitive with 7km to go. Close to the GPM, Buitrago (Bahrain - Victorious) tries, but is quickly taken up by a small group of about ten riders. Cepeda tries to anticipate the restricted sprint, but his attempt is also blocked, so eight of them go to battle in the ups and downs final, with a couple of very technical corners placed before the final straight. The best is once again   Geoghegan Hart   (INEOS Grenadiers) who leads the last few hundred meters and precedes the two riders of Bahrain-Victorius   You have G   And   Buitrago . In the tortuous finale, Gall's crash should be noted, while a small group with Kamna, Vlasov, Pozzovivo and Thomas reaches 29 seconds.
