Third place for Wout Van Aert

The race comes alive from the early stages thanks to a breakaway of about ten runners and a great pace set by Team Visma which significantly skims the main group.

Shortly after the halfway point of the race, seven remained in the lead: Van Aert, Laporte, Jorgenson, De Lie, Pidcock, Skuijns and Moscon, with the latter breaking away 50km from the finish line.

At -20 km Jorgenson attacks alone, while the main group gets very close to the first pursuers and manages to catch them on the Bosberg.

At -10 km Tratnik and Politt start and gain about twenty seconds on the rest of the group. The two manage to maintain the advantage and play for the victory in the sprint with Tratnik easily beating Politt.

Van Aert wins the sprint for third place ahead of Naesen and Laporte.
