The Piedmontese rider leaves Ineos, a dream team with Jonathan Milan.

Filippo Ganna joins Lidl-Trek . The Italian is officially leaving Netcompany Ineos to join his new team on a three-year contract.
The Piedmontese rider, who joined the British team in 2019, thus leaves a year before the end of his contract, seeking an adventure in a team where he aims to further hone his skills.
THE AMBITIONS:
“I'm really looking forward to next year with such a great team as Lidl-Trek ,” said Ganna. “I'm incredibly proud to be part of it and can't wait to participate in the first training camp and start the season in the best possible way. After eight years with my current team, starting a new chapter is really nice, and I feel very motivated for the season. I have big goals that I hope to achieve with Lidl-Trek, especially in the Classics: with the team we have, nothing is beyond our reach. Of course, the Grand Tours remain an important goal, and I'm looking forward to supporting the team while seizing my opportunities.”
THE DREAM COUPLE WITH MILAN:
Ganna will find a large contingent of Italian runners in Lidl-Trek, from his brother-in-law Matteo Sobrero to two riders with whom he has already shared many successes with the national track team: Simone Consonni and Jonathan Milan : “I know Simo and Jonny because we raced together on the track. It's great to be on the same team with Simo after so many years. It will be fantastic to work with Jonny because he's a really good guy. I also train with Matteo; he really gives me a boost when the days are really tough.”
LIVING WITH PEDERSEN:
It will be interesting, therefore, to see if and how Ganna can put his power to work in the sprints in Milan, for an Italian duo that's already a dream come true. At Lidl-Trek, the Piedmontese will also find a rider strong in the classics like Mads Pedersen : "He's the team's number one, and I hope I can be a valuable support for him and vice versa; I know he'll be a great support for me."
